Bishop Roderick L. Hennings
172 - The Palm Reader!
"Praise is not designed to change your circumstance. Praise is designed to keep you in contact with God. No matter what the circumstances may be, 'praise' says, "He's still in the mix."
It takes maturity to give God praise: because when you said, "God, I need you to do this," and His answer was "no, but give Me praise anyhow" - you've got to know him for yourself in order to praise God when you don't get the expected answer or the desired answer for your intercession.
God has to know that you mean your praise for real, it is not disingenuous. You're praising God because He's God, not because He's done anything; and not because you need Him to do anything. You're praising God just because He's God!
The only reason somebody won't praise God is because they don't know Him as God! You know him as food; you know him as gasoline; you know him as a roof over your head; you know him as some clothes; you know him as money, but there's some other folks that know him as Jehovah!" - @BishopHennings
