"Had it not been for the Lord on our side, there wouldn’t be Zion Dominion Global Ministries on North Forest Road" -Pastor Hennings

About Zion Dominion

Faith, Vision, and a Historical Move: On June 12, 2005, Pastor Hennings lead the Zion Dominion family to its current location from the inner city edifice to the suburban location at 895 North Forest Road, Amherst NY. This was the first time in Western New York that people of African descent were able to purchase property of this magnitude for the purposes of worship in a predominately Caucasian suburb. Due to the growth of the membership and its outreach ministries, Zion Dominion was busting the seams at 360 Genesee Street.

It’s new 13 ½ acre—centrally located complex—allows for several separate events to occur at the same time. Over 100 children (ages 6 wks – 12 years) enjoy weekly worship services; teens experience the joy of salvation and are given the tools for successful living through TEEN Word On Wednesdays and TNT on Saturdays; the men enjoy weekly fellowship of basketball on a regulation sized court as well as a variety of monthly activities; the women enjoy a bible study every Monday evening, Life Smart Health & Wellness program, and monthly activities of interaction. The Worship Center holds approximately 1,500 people with an overflow capacity of 400 additional people. The Worship Center has plush, rose-colored carpets, cushioned pews, several TV monitors and teleprompters located in the vestibule, speakers hanging from the ceiling and a motorized podium that rises with the push of a button. The Children’s wing has ten separate rooms dividing the children by age and it includes a sanctuary. The Administrative building houses 25 offices and conference room. The grounds include a pavilion, outdoor basketball court, and volleyball court.

Had it not been for the Lord on our side, there wouldn’t be Zion Dominion Global Ministries on North Forest Road.

The previous building (360 Genesee): The building previously known as "Zion Dominion Church of God in Christ" was erected during the 19th century and slated for demolition prior to its purchase by Pastor Hennings and the Zion Dominion family. The leadership of Pastor Hennings was able to minimize a $3 million debt in reconstructions to $500,000.00 in less than five years. In addition, the renovation of the historic building has changed the face of the neighborhood…The commissioner of the City of Buffalo has since targeted the Genesee—Hickory area for the urban renewal. This was due to the investment Zion made into the community. Furthermore, the city of Buffalo has renamed Genesee Street to “Roderick L. Hennings Way” (east to west from Jefferson Avenue to downtown).

The Membership: Zion Dominion has grown from twenty members to three-thousand members—the largest membership base in the Western New York area for the COGIC.

A Synopsis of What We Believe

We Believe In one God, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, the Creator, Sustainer of the universe, revealing Himself to us in His Word as Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Spirit)

We Believe The Holy Bible to be the inherent, infallible, living and abiding Word of God, revealing the character, will and mind of God, disclosing His plans for the universe and man, the crown of His creation.

We Believe That through Jesus Christ we have wisdom, righteousness, Sanctification and redemption. We also have through Him, all of theTemporal provisions for our physical life, including healing of the body and mind and all material needs.

We Believe In the sacraments of Water Baptism and Holy Communion.

We Believe In the indwelling power of the Holy Ghost (Spirit), enduing and empowering believers to speak with tongues and imparting divers gifts To the members of the Body of Christ.

We Believe In the final judgment, with the resurrection of the righteous to eternal bliss and the wicked to eternal damnation. How firm a foundation ye saints of the Lord Is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say, than to you He hath said? To you, who for refuge to Jesus have fled?
